Things I learned from race #6 the red bracket is where the fun was at...close, competitive, and a bunch of great driving. I am still haven't come down from all the action...the heat race was so close from start to finish. Wow...wish I had the camera rolling. If someone up front can pass me some video of the action I would be in debt to you. T – I see you have a theory on why it was close...but personally for me I had a few chances to pass henry while he was in one of his power slides, but played it safe to conserve tire for final. I was on my nitto's last race. I think the track conditions were cooking our tires...denise was up front and his car was on fire all day long. You know he's not going to hold back. I need to get some rubber on my car, so I don't have to drive so hard. The s2's(mike&henry) have some serious rubber. I really didn't pay too much attention to that until I got to follow from behind really close this weekend. Time to think about this for next season. Learned how not to set pressures for a ever changing track...what was up? My car was plowing like a mule in the feature. I over cooked the front tires probably five laps in that race. Thank goodness for the 3 caution laps it allowed for my tires to cool down and it got me within striking distance of gary and I used the miata traffic to aid my pass on the straight to take fourth(aka second). He and I traded positions all evening long. Gary you owned me from 10-14 and especially in 4-5. those 944's are fun to watch. Learned that the sentra can do four wheel slides through turn 3,8, and into 14...wow...slip angles were huge. The defender ate up the inside of my shoulders\chest...have to figure out something to help with comfort. I'm working on the video from the heat right now, hopefully it will be up on vimeo sometime tonight. I had a pretty good view of things, I kinda lost touch with you guys for a few laps in the middle but the beginning and end were pretty close.

T- you ran a good race yesterday. I thought I had dreamed this, that's why I missed it earlier, cough, cough, getting back on topic.... I don't know whether it was disbelief or maybe I thought you were shook up after coming off the GT feature and didn't have all your senses back in check yet but I thought this was what you were saying in person near my car Sunday too but I guess I didn't acknowledge your comment because it just didn't register for some reason.... ;D T Nope. I've got to give credit where it's due and, from my vantage point, you ran a solid race. Just imagine what you could do if you would read the book? BTW, you do owe me that dollar. I don't care if it's cash or check. I just want it to say, "I lost." and your signature. It's been a pleasure doing business with you.

Clint, for a guy who hasn't been on track in a while you ran a great race. I felt very comfortable on all four sides of you, and I WAS on all four sides at one time or another Sadly I was mostly behind looking at your rear bumper and wondering if bump drafting was legal ;D I should get something posted on Vimeo in the next few days.

I'll echo what T said about life away from CGB. However we have always strived to be more of a 'family' type group; and I think that Chris, Chris and Kent have done that in spades. The series is safer and bettr run than it has ever been. Most of the guys working are there for us and not for the money. I can't think of anywhere else we could do what we do for under $150 for the house.
That being said, in every instance I've seen this much discussion on a point, Chris et all have learned and adjusted; more importantly, we as racers have also learned and adjusted. Stuff happens on track that will change the norm, we have to be ready to adjust and react. Maybe the penalties were harsh, maybe they will work to make the next situation go just a little smoother.

Well put, Gary. I spoke to Chris W. this afternoon and there are no hard feelings on my part. As T said, Chris' main objective was for the remaining groups to get a full race in. Emotions were a understandably a factor after Marshall's frightening crash. I'm ready to chalk it up as a learning experience and move on.

To be clear, any criticisms from my end are purely constructive criticism, not anything personal. I think it's important to discuss these things, as uncomfortable as they can be, to make our series better. Sorry if emotion is gained or lost through the medium.

Yes, our comments need to be taken as instructional, constructive, or otherwise non-derogatory. I commented as much in my original post. The penalty for me was a non-entity, as I stated: Toce was going to fly by me, anyway. I think he finished second while I was second to last. I do hope we can all adjust in order for our racing days to be as fun as possible, without unnecessary stress or criticism of anyone who is REALLY TRYING to do the right thing. Had I known that I was to report to grid without my car, I would have gladly done so. I was trying to do as directed when I reported to grid in my car. By then the meeting was all but over, anyway. I always try to do as I'm told by the authorities, though communications sometimes aren't perceived as intended. We call those things "misunderstandings", not intentional wrongdoing. If I screw up, I'll take the penalty, but if it is not intentional, I'd like to be treated with the same respect as I treat others. I hope that's not too much to ask. The race was a lot of fun, but I hope that next time there won't be a cloud over it.

Water under the bridge y'all. I doubt any comments made in this thread would be taken as anything but constructive. Situations off the track can be as fluid as on and we should all stay on our toes and at attention. Once, me and Eon's group was shorted a session at TWS for serious delays towing cars out of the swamp created by the monsoon weather. We took it in stride and I never heard a grumble from any of the advanced DE'ers while they handed our session to the green group. That Sunday, a day after we got shorted, they awarded us with a double length session. I got so tired of driving I came off early and had the car loaded and buckled down before Eon decided he'd had enough lapping.... Lesson learned then...... T
