Looking for criticism on my driving, just a street car with some upgrades to it but I am looking for fundamental advice on my driving, plan on being at the track this Sunday for the solo day.
Short video, camera was acting up.
When I go back and look at the video looks like I was turning in too late for the most part.

It ensures that you always have enough track on corner exit. The advice I give everyone is to buy Ross Bentley's book called Speed Secrets. It has tons of information that will help you on track. It is carried at most Barnes and Nobles, Borders, etc.

what kind of camera and mount are you using? Something I rigged up, It's a kodak easyshare (just a dinky little digital camera that can shoot video too) mounted to a piece of aluminum, then that mounts to a piece of 2x4 that I cut in half and then it holds onto the dash with heavy duty velcro. Here it is: The pennies correct the lean it had. And here is the new mounting position. Bad thing about it... You can see inside the cabin now... But the damn glare is so bad you can barely make out where I am headed. Pops has a real video recorder so I am gonna try to use that instead.

Man, you passed that John Deere coming out of 14 like it was standing still! Excellent driving.

may want to try braking a little earlier, smoother, and lighter going into turns 2 and 8. i know its a factory car so you are carrying around a load of weight...your front tires and brake pads will appreciate it. try going around the track without using 100% of your brake pedal and try to drive the car with the throttle...then as you build up to speeds gradually use the brakes more. again like andy said time to break out ross bentley's speed secrets or just keep practicing and critiquing yourself. hope this helps.

Clint, did you miss the part where he stated that lap was a 1:24.xx in a street car on street tires? Dude. We need to be listening to you.

Clint, did you miss the part where he stated that lap was a 1:24.xx in a street car on street tires? Dude. We need to be listening to you. Depends on your definition of street tires. They are 275/40 Nitto NT-01's. Pretty wide and pretty sticky once they get warmed up. They are DOT tires but are recommended for competition use only. Guess I should state exactly what I have done to the car. Don't want people mistaking me for the Stig ;D. Upgraded suspension: Koni STR.T dampers, Steeda Sport lowering springs, Steeda HD upper strut mounts (camber is set to -1.2 currently, gonna tweak it to -1.5 and see what happens), UMI 1055 adj panhard w/ roto joints on either end which I currently have dialed in for the lowered stance. Brakes: A47 rotor cooling kit, HP+ pads in the front, HPS in the back (only because of those stupid screw in calipers), Goodridge stainless steel coated brake lines, DOT4 synthetic fluid. Engine: Roush CAI (got it second hand for $50), Brenspeed custom track tune for 93 octane. Wheels: Steeda Ultra-lite Silvers, 18x9.5, they weigh 23lbs each. With the CAI and tune I am sitting at about 350-360 bhp, and around the same amount of torque (haven't dyno'd it but those are very close estimates). The tune doesn't really kick in till around 3k RPM so I try to keep the car above that when I am on the track. I am probably sitting at close to 280-290 rwhp. Planned future upgrades: DBA slotted rotors (maybe a 14" Brembo brake kit instead), Strano end-links and adjustable sway bar kit (Sam Strano, 6x SCCA national champ, mustang enthusiast, and knows his shit). Maybe some LCA reloc brackets, I hear it helps but the verdict is still out. I know, lotta mods for a street car... This is what I like to do though =P. That's why I'm out on the track every chance I get.

Yeah, NT-01s are race rubber. They are good for 3-4 seconds over a street tire. Thanks for the equipment update. For a minute there, I was going to sell everything I owned to promote your racing career....

For a minute there, I was going to sell everything I owned to promote your racing career.... I could probably get down to 1:22's. That solo day was the first time I really heat cycled those tires. The other lapping day I was using them I really didn't push them too hard, I was running 1:30's. I really got on them this last solo day to see what they were made of. I am surprised how well they held up.
