Are there any rules for this race? Since this race is for money, one would assume that a professional mindset towards contact will be in force. Is that correct?

If T brings that out. I will be running for Second tier. I am tired of rebuilding my cars.

Man, it's a wonderful day in the neighborhood when this place can be educational as well as informative...., "Tier"....now that's a word I can make useful in a sentence from time to time. ;D What is this, like the third LA400 thread....? Anyone with a car needing a co-driver? I know where there's one, cheap. Dunno Reg, last year, I'm dead on certain that our team cost the least per entrant share. $300 or $400, don't really remember. That included driver entry fees, share of tires, brake pads, fuel, etc. As treasurer....( ), I even had enough dough left over to bring a pop-up table and some driver friendly snacks all sprawled out like the big boys and pay our team mechanic's entry fees. Whoever is still contemplating, you can do this on the cheap. X 4 drivers and everybody gets 1.5 hours seat time. Reliability is gonna win it. T

OK Kent, how does the prize money break out?
Are you going to pay from first place overall down to whatever or will there be car classes with prize money paid in each class?
I am looking for a LeMons class, (not that a LeMons car has any class.)

$300 or $400, don't really remember.
That's about what I suspected, T. If no one needs a driver I might just show up to spectate the race!

OK, here goes. Purse is based on a 30 car field and will be prorated accordingly. The 4k will be distributed as follows: first 2k, second 1k third will get $500. The first car officially out of the event will draw / spin a wheel to determine the position of the last payout. This is being done to create a race within a race, meaning the if 8 is drawn 8th place guys may be running for cash as well. Additional items, gift certificates etc are going to be added to the podium finishers bag of goodies as well. Pitt stalls will be assigned per request and all pitt functions will be able to be completed in the assigned stall / spot. A zero spillage policy will be in affect and the pitt Marshall's call will be final. ( bring your pans and trays). Everyone will have to travel the same pitt road distance. Practice on Friday evening, party Friday night,(**** RULE CHANGE FROM LAST YEAR**** DRIVERS WHO WILL DRIVE AT NIGHT MUST HAVE APPROVAL NOTED IN THEIR LOG BOOKS. LOG BOOKS WILL BE SIGNED DURING FRIDAYS PRACTICE. We are stealing that rule from IMSA. ) qualify, single hot lap style Sat at noon and race begins at 3:30. Avoidable contact will not be tolerated and no matter what, will cost the suspects time in the pitts. We want this to be a fun event and so far we have three new teams that are scheduled to enter. Registration will be open Tuesday, June 21at clubregistration.net. Register your team, Spread the word to friends in other areas. The more the better. The racing is guaranteed to be HOT!

Hey Chris, I like the spinning the wheel thing, that adds an uncertainty, kinda LeMons-like.
Would y'all consider - breaking down the prize money into smaller increments so one share would be paid to the top finisher in this year's LA400/2, that to qualify, you had to have participated in the inaugural race....?
Those cars came out and supported the first event when there was nothing to gain.....well, I take that back, the champagne trophy with the medal on it was killer....!
