Poll results should become visible after a vote for those wondering if/why they can't see them.
I used to rev match myself back in the DE days but use the option 1 ever since.
I don't think there's much to be gained over rev matching, maybe a tenth or two and at our track, in a 944, you can get away with two down changes per lap depending on if you are racing wheel/wheel at T4 or not.

T It really depends on the car on how much is gained. For example" 1) My MR2 doesn't have a ton of "engine" braking, but it's already twitchy from the mid-engine setup so you have to be ginger with downshifts as to not upset the car. 2) My old Z06. Big engine, high compression, lots of engine braking and drag. Downshifting by heel-toe and blipping was very important. Even though it was a a stable chassis it could be upset very easily by a mis-shift or missing a rev match on downshift. 3) My old Miata. Balanced chassis, RWD, light engine braking. Pretty much do what you want and not worry about upsetting the car too much. Actually lots of turns there's NO brakes, and/or left foot in that thing compared to the other cars I mentioned above. One other thing to note is that I don't drive FWD cars much - even more rare is racing them, so I am curious to what the FWD guys do. Patrick

Patrick, it's good to see you back here contributing by the way.
Andy is busy making 944 parts and babies so there's nobody regular to disagree with... ;D

Mine's in the air 10/10 times at T4 ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) That's a big 10-4 roger on that... ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Troy, OMP has a special on their entire line right now....even free shipping on seats (which is a huge break for anyone looking for a seat right now). They make probably 20 pedal styles if you were looking for something that fits a special requirement. ![](http://www.ompamerica.com/images/pedals/link/oa1010_big.jpg) These are only $48 and the rest of the styles can be seen here - www.ompamerica.com/pedals.htmlT

Funny thing T is he already has those pedal covers. I think what we are missing is the time to bother to set them up. I am a left foot, trail brake user. And in every corner with speed I am full on the right and driving with the left. T14 I am mid range with the right and use the left to control turn in and grip as I progress. T4 Right foot brake, down shift twice and use the motor to finish the decent, and be spooled up and ready for the exit. But I run slow laps so best to follow a faster driver. Carver

Carver Yep, I left foot brake at those spots and at T10, because I'm staying in 4th through there and catch the down shift at T11. I stab at the brake with throttle to minimize understeer through the rest of the peanut. I don't really have any problems with the curvy bits....., it's the straight parts where I'm screwed... ;D T

Brakes? They never seem to work for me to well, but then I'm usually out in the grass showing everyone where the track should have been built.

T... whatcha doin putting a target on Eon's back now? ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) No Hallett for me. Done it already. No need to go back to Indian country with all of their damn toll roads. It is a nice track & facility though its just not very convenient.
