Oh, what the he11, I'm on overtime.... ;D What's not realistic about my lap times? What's not realistic about renting a track car and taking turns running laps to actually get solid data? What lap times are those PH and where did I say something about 'em...? Other than the rest of the humble people in here that took the thread for what it really is, a non-serious bait game, you're the only one trotting along blowing your own horn. Yes, it was my first competitive road race event ever in my life - 2009 GBRS #1. I RAN IN THE YELLOW BRACKET. BRENT MOSING Ran in SM and my name was improperly listed there. Yes, I was approx 2 sec behind fastest Spec miata driver of the day, but we were on OLD cycled out spec tires (told you about this already but you won't listen). We picked from a pile to find a set that weren't flat spotted. And yes this spec car has gone totally underwater in a flood...so I guess it's the number one "SPEC" performer still? And to note, I was faster than Brent that weekend and while not by much, it was in a car I had never driven before. (Thanks again for letting me drive it Brent).I was also only 1.3 sec off of Hamza's fastest lap - and he drives the best car ever, right?LOL, here fishy fishy.... Saw it already Patrick, news flash....I won my first ever competitive race too....in a car I had never raced before......so what...? It's not that you are wrong (which is usually the case), it's the fact that you try to disregard any solid data and then find data that is WAY out of context. I posted solid data from one of my recent races...and I am quite proud of that (oh and the race where I lapped the whole field on slicks in the rain). I was waiting......, it was an entire paragraph since you had last made a complimentary remark about yourself.... I'm not on here saying I'm the best. I didn't start the thread, I just posted some data - take that however you want. Until then, I'm just going to just keep racing and having fun going fast. Oh, and It's getting chilly in here, better put my "2010 GCRS GT2 Champion" jacket on.LOL, do you have a writer or do you come up with this stuff all by yourself....? TBDIL "I'm not on here saying I'm the best. " PS - Shouldn't you be working on that there turbo 4 banger to come give me a run for my money? Uh, I dunno, there's really nothing that I "should" or "have" to be doing. I don't really have anyone to answer to.... T

I have a great idea.
T vs. Patrick in Paul Burch's old car. Neither have ever driven a BMW at speed. The car is ready to go in the same condition as when Paul ran 1:21.xx. You guys should put your money where your mouth is. The car is available for rent during any lapping day. Group discount. No excuses. Put up or shut-up.

T, it is you who has taken the bait my friend. I don't see how you figure that. Re-read the spirit of the thread from the outset. It's darned near one comedic post after another until you wandered in with the predictable self glorification with a couple of your throne carriers in full hero worship chant. Bottom line, the thread was posted as a joke with a predicted outcome and true to forecast, in you trotted to make the case of how great you are. I highlighted all of the instances in case you don't even realize it. T

Dang. It sure got quiet in here, all of the sudden... Sorry Andy...., I don't currently a PC at home and my last message was around 5pm. But look...., if your daily life is hinging on responses from me to make you complete....., I could probably pry my daughter's laptop away for a post or two during the night. T

For the morning crowd hitting the refresh button to see what I'll say next, and keeping with the fun and non serious intent of the thread, I had an idea for some extra fun and income for the track last night while watching the 'Ultimate Fighter'.
Check this out.
In following with the format of the TV show, let's say we pick two "coaches", Kent and Chris or Chris and Carver.
All drivers who are interested in participating sign up for a list to be picked from.
Entry fee dependent on participation.
The two coaches flip a coin for first choice and drivers are alternately selected until two teams are formed.
The coaches pit drivers against each other in time attack using one car until all are eliminated.
Man standing at the end is the 'Ultimate Driver' for that year.

OK, so far this thread has been amusing to say the least. Who is the greatest has yet to be answered and I don't think it can be. The parameters have not been defined. Go back to our beginnings in 2000. Winston Landymore, John Crosby, Brad Bradford, Tom Quinlan, Nick Hingle, Joe Isorello, Monte Shellet and Charley Derbes. Most of you guys don't even know who these guys are, but if you did would put them on the list in a heartbeat, maybe not for posting lap times or being able to put on a Championship Jacket when it gets cold (BTW Patrick that was awesome! ) but for their efforts and vision. These guys helped form what we have today and I think we sometimes take for granted. I can see a rental car challenge in the near future, but we better make sure T goes before Patrick otherwise a deterioration of polymers caused by various numbers of heat cycles and inconsistent temperature ratings causing a corresponding coefficient of air pressures and diminishing lap times will come up and I can see 10 pages on that topic easy. Keep having fun and we'll keep reading on! ChrisW

I'm willing to rent a car, but everyone who wants to participate must rent their own, question is what kind of car? Dodge neon, Ford Mustang, Chevy Cobalt, Ford Taurus? It will be like the two driuvers in Days of Thunder when they were driving to dinner. To paraphrase Brian Doyle Murray in Caddy shack, "it must be known that this is against all club rules and we must all agree no one will get fired."

Nice Chris, you are on top of your posting game today.
Carver just wants to go fast.
Well, I'm almost like that, I just want to try and go fast.

I highlighted all of the instances in case you don't even realize it. T My Findings of the 'Spirit' of thread: 1) The punctuation was wrong....should have been a question mark...Dead giveaway that it was a trap! imagemacros.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/its_a_trap.jpg2) It was posted by Lane...who cares what Lane thinks? 3) I wasn't the first to "blow my horn"...but maybe someday T will want to "blow my horn" as well 4) I'm the best there is, and the best there will ever be! Just a big, hairy, American, Winning Machine! On a serious note...I have said 'Any given Sunday' many times. We have LOTS of great drivers around here. We have plenty enough to have good, solid competition on all levels. I am TRULY out there for the fun at the track (one way or another) and you OBVIOUSLY don't get the TBDIL joke (hence why you took the bait). Bad thing is, not many of us know the competition in the other classes and what they are capable of...doesn't make sense to pose such a question (I'm sorry, EXCLAMATION!) of "who is the greatest!"...I knew this was stupid all the time. I got the "TBDIL" nickname to stick in a very similar thread and if you really are taking that seriously then just back up and look at it for what it is...or save your time and work on your turbo car to try to make me look stupid one day - then we can laugh and drink beer together and you can truly find out what I'm all about. TBDIL. (<---that's a PERIOD).

T picturing Patrick with a slide rule and scientific calculator trying to analyze wind speed direction vs. coefficient of drag and how his lap was compromised x a factor of pie..... ;D This thread was supposed to be fun and for those who know what's going on, I can ring their number right now to nothing but laughs on the other end of the line. Chis.....are you on anti-depressants over there because Carver didn't mention you.....? You're right up there on my list but I didn't mention it because I didn't think this thread was serious. Then again, Doc Phil is right up there too..... ;D T

So, that's a no on the head-to-head in Burch's car? Andy, if you are paying attention......, I haven't made any claims of greatness in this entire thread. If you want or need a reason to jot down in your Dick Tracy evidence notepad from the box of Lucky Charms, go revisit the reasons you gave when I offered up the 944T for you for free with no liabilities attached.
