All,
Sorry I missed Summer #2. Didn't make it back from Ohio in time. Will be there for #3 though !
I want to thank Chris Carver (and Terry Simon) for getting my trans pieced back together in time for my run up to Mid-Ohio motorsports park. Nothing like a late night scramble prior to a 16 hour drive !
Thanks guys !
Regards from the die hard Bow Tie guy

Wayne,
Great to here you made it to Mid-O, sounds like you found some good help, I heard that's hard to find, they are good guys. I should be there, I had to reconstruct the nose of my car after an off at turn one during the Summer#2. ..........Who else out there is coming?

My son whipped me again. My best was still 1.5 seconds off his time. He ran with the front two CMC guys all weekend, set pole Sunday, then had vapor lock issues and couldn't get over 3500 rpm the rest of the race. It was quite a show (and sort of scary at times) watching him drive the crap out of it in the corners to make up for straightaway speed ! I started in AI Saturday and did OK, then they bumped me to AIX Sunday so I wouldn't affect the championship points. Worked out better though since I finished 3rd ! It was quite enlightening to start and race with 60 plus other cars on the track. Attachments:

How did y'all determine that rpms were limited by vapor lock...? Is the car carbureted or injected...? The engine is carbureted. He has been having trouble keeping the engine temps in line and getting the motor to behave when it gets hot. The engine is fresh, wasn't a dead miss like ignition, and acted like it was running out of fuel, so we surmized vapor lock. I know it didn't take me long to decide if the fuel line was hot. Ouch !
Before his next event, a new fuel pump, insulated line, high cap water pump, and some fan shrouding is the plan.
The other guys in CMC are in big trouble if he gets it sorted out. He is currently 3rd in NASA Great Lakes region points and has had issues all along the way.
