It is disappointing to say the least that the track management. does not answer or acknowledge questions pertaining to the drag strip. Roger Amadee asked about the National Dragster Challenge back in July and was never responded to. It is not an economy issue that is the reason for dismal car counts, it is quite simply retaliation by many of us for the lack of concern that is shown for drag racers by management. Many of us have decided that we would rather travel to Gulfport and Monroe where we are appreciated in lieu of racing in our backyard. Willing to spend the extra money on fuel to travel 200 miles one way instead of 30 miles to race local, does not represent "poor economic conditions affecting car count". Other regional tracks are setting attendance and participation records, and doing it because of former No Problem racers. Truly a shame, because the facilities at No Problem are second to none, but until we are "welcomed back with a commitment to treating the racers with respect and appreciation" we will continue to take our money to tracks that understand that they provide a service to the racers. The TOTAL LACK OF INTEREST shown by management with all of the unanswered and unacknowledged questions and issues in the forum speaks volumes on where the drag racers fit in at Circuit Grand Bayou, formerly known as No Problem Raceway. I'm not bitter, I'm calling as I see it. Considering car count this year, I'm not alone. I welcome a response from management to this post, but don't expect to see one.

I'm not for sure but I think they stoped the weds test And tune due to lack of people. But I know you can test and tune during the friday gamblers race. The pro test and tune is were you want to test the track is preped really good same as a points race. Wwe have gone 1.06 60ft during a test session with a big car and have been at every race there with my sons jr. So trust me I see the changes too. They are trying! The track has really came around since the middle of the summer. I think that they are really came around since some good changes were made, but it will take word of mouth that they are trying and its getting better. So just come on back an make a few passes and see, so I think you will see a positive move forward.

Stevie Ray, you are the best improvement to the track in a long time. And improvements you are making are being noticed. It was Chris, many moons ago, who promised that the forum would be monitored.
Things are getting better. The track is always right. Or if it's not, it gets noticed and fixed immediately, as we saw when I spun the tire at about 700' on the 27th. People told me that SR was heading down the track to see what was wrong before I made my turn.
And I don't know about the other classes, but the purses for the bikes have definitely been higher this summer than last, with the same counts.
I've been one of the voices of dissent in the past, but I have a lot of hope for the future. And we do need to spread the word.

First I'll address the number of races/passes that I have participated in and made thus far this year. After the first test and tune at SCR this year I replaced my slicks, as of the last pass made at KOC Sunday September the 29th, (won the round but broke in the process) I have 89 passes on them. Considering that I broke my crank, block, and bell housing March 3rd and was sidlined until May 24th. I have not been completely idle. If there was something that you should have recognized and working to resolve is the fact that you pointed out about participating in ZERO points races at NPR. Oh by the way one of the races that I participated in that you were unable to validate on the web was the July 4th weekend race at Monroe, where I was the footbrake runner up. There was also an NPR racer that was the Super Pro runner up. As stated, we have resolved to traveling. I am sending this today Saturday October 19th from my motorhome sitting at SCR waiting to race. I have invested what to me is a substantial amount of money to race, Motorhome, Trailer, Race Truck, Pit Vehicle, etc... with engine rebuild this summer in excess of $60,000 to support my racing habit. By traveling, I have demonstrated my commitment to race, with action, not just words. I think I have clarified the "Don't Race Much" statement you made. If you are waiting for a call from me, first of all, "Who are you"? I checked the track info and contact information posted on the NPR website and your name is not listed. If you have been elevated to a position to effect policy change perhaps that should be reflected on the website. This might help to alleviate the communication problems that exist at NPR. Second, if you indeed have a plan to fix NPR, then don't share it with me on the phone, post it, there are scores of racers who are interested. I may one day return to NPR, that is yet to be seen. It will be dictated by NPR's actions. If you are indeed part of NPR's management, be careful making your post directed at me personally, you are in a service oriented business, and others are monitoring the responses. How I respond, be it right or wrong, calls judgment down on ME from my peers. How you respond affects the judgment of others on you and NPR. I am trying to raise awareness to effect much needed change, not destroy the business of the track.

Stevie Ray since it appears you will be cordinating events for 2014 have yall given any thought to 1/8 mile racing again? I know this comes up every now and then. But we have enjoyed 1/8 racing @ SCR in Super Pro. Just wondering if that would generate more car count. Thanks

But we have enjoyed 1/8 racing @ SCR in Super Pro. Just wondering if that would generate more car count. Thanks i know there are talks about some (specialty) 1/8 mile races, i think the majority will still be quarter mile. just from what i was told, hopefully they will find a new moderator to handle the forum, i think that they will start posting here. Stevie ray (who posted on the forum because i asked him to reply)is a great guy but like most of people don't like computers. if i wouldn't sit at a desk all day i don't think i would turn one on! i will try to keep up and post what i hear is up coming events thanks for being patient and any questions call Stevie rays phone thanks

Aaron, I know what you mean, as I work with a computer 8-10 hrs a day so I am online quite a bit. But IMHO you need to gage what your racers want and I don't think you can do that by just talking to the few that will call you up. I'm fine with 1/4 mile racing, but I think if you want the car counts to increase you need to think outside the box sometimes. No problem is without a doubt a much nicer track than some others. And we are lucky here to have some of the bigger events(Sportsnational/ NHRA Div 4 event) that I am sure help the track succeed. But I gotta tell you SCR was packed last weekend for their Bayou on the Bayou event and Gulfport is doing well with it's KOC events, those events bring in good numbers of both jr's and big cars. But I am glad that Stevie Ray is taking over the drag race event planning, I think that is a good step in the right direction.

I hear a lot of comments about the car count at NPR from customers & racers. if you want the car count to increase at NPR load up your car call your buddies that you race with & go to NPR & make an effort to help the track to increase the car count. Like someone once said are you part of the problem are you part of the solution.
