My first attempt at a Vimeo video. Heat race in 35 degrees. I started at the back due to breaking out. Sorry for the angle, I need to get more view to the right so I missed the pillup at the start; but watch for it in the rearview. Also note the various times I'm lifting to avoid another breakout; my best lap was a 1:24.1 Feature will be coming soon. Enjoy. vimeo.com/groups/29396/videos/9136633

Thanks for posting, I knew you could do it. Teri says that's OK, we'll be posting her video soon. She said she's better at cutting McD's commercials than cutting corners. :-)

Awesome video Gary! It's great to see two guys running an extremely hard, but clean race. I see Lane used his full bag of tricks including the smoke screen button cleverly disguised as a brake pedal in T11. ;D

Gary certainly had the faster car that day! I knew that I had to just stay ahead of Gary cause if he ever got around me he was gone. I had several good breaks that race day with Goddard spinning in the heat Hamza spinning in the feature and not really sure what happened to Dennis Paul. Not to mention not screwing up to bad and staying ahead of Gary. Good driving Gary especially for a couple of lowly 4 cylinders!

Not to mention not screwing up to bad and staying ahead of Gary. Good driving Gary especially for a couple of lowly 4 cylinders! Grip......it's all about the grip there. I know the car platform as well as anybody and I can tell you, Gary is on throttle and carrying more speed than I can through some sections (easy to directly compare how your car is reacting to the same speed level too). Your car and Gary's look about what and what on power so no real disparity there. You and I talked about this at length last race which is what brought up the spec tire conversation, but it's pretty hard to compare two otherwise same spec cars when one is on new Hoosiers and the other is on three race old race tires or grooved tires of any age. This isn't taking anything away from any driver who has fresh rubber.......you still have to do the times physically and mentally and not make the mistakes. It's pretty obvious that Eon's car can pull out a little space on even Gary on power and given the same grip level, I'm pretty sure Gary would never have passed him. You drive what you have, and given that I know what condition your tires were in, you did a great job holding him off. T

Grip and suspension. After we took out the torsion bar and put stiffer springs all around, lowered the car and properly balanced it, and rebuilt the shocks all around, it felt like it was on rails.
The other thing I noticed, since I believe we both have 944S tranny's, was that Lane had better acceleration out of the corners with 15" wheels compared to my 16". I'm not sure what size tire Lane's using, and if that might have equalized the total diameter; but you can see him pull away especially out of 6.

Well, shut my mouth! I thought you ran 15". I was on 225/50/16 in front 7' wide and 245/45/16 rear 8" wide. Maybe the extra rubber and smaller diameter in the front helped?
