After the LA400 was cancelled due to lack of cars, 10 needed only 6 registered, I was wondering why. So here I am asking for some feedback. Respond back here on the forum to let everyone know your thoughts. Did you not enter because you don’t care to run an Enduro, the 400 miles was too long, did not like the format of driving at night, worried it may rain, too long of a day after a regular series race or whatever. Also if you are in favor of an Enduro what would make you enter a team or drive on one. Should it be the only race of the day or after one of the regular CGB events? Items that you may consider in your response, distance, 400 miles, 250 miles, 2 hours, 3 hours etc. Maybe more classes of cars regular race cars and Lemons, or maybe even some sort of bracket class. I don’t really know just thinking out loud. Respond back with your thoughts.

Hey Ben.....bummer about the race, ultimately even I ended up cancelling at CR on the 13th, the deadline day for the minimum of 10 that only had 6 cars registered. I think I could have kept maybe four drivers together but the whole thing kinda crashed in the last day or two when it looked like it'd be called off. After the LA400 was cancelled due to lack of cars, 10 needed only 6 registered, I was wondering why. Couple of things; it's a pretty huge commitment to do the race already as anyone who has done it knows. entry is more than fair, 1.5 hours seat time in a race like no other around here divided by your team members is a lot of bang for the buck, not to even mentioned the off track fun, planning and strategy with your team in holding it together to the end but also the smack talk and at track rivalry between teams, etc. Thing is....other expenses.....car prep, certain 1 use death of a set of tires, fuel, etc, etc. puts this event cost at around 2 grand. To field 10 cars you need 40 people willing to split costs of 20 grand with 10 cars they are willing to risk abusing more than they would rather do to their main race car. So....40 special people with 10 special cars.....minimum....! That's not to mention that a few prospective drivers are already working/organizing the event to make it happen. So here I am asking for some feedback. Respond back here on the forum to let everyone know your thoughts. Did you not enter because you don’t care to run an Enduro, the 400 miles was too long, did not like the format of driving at night, worried it may rain, too long of a day after a regular series race or whatever. Will be interesting if others reply....., as for us, we did actually enter but I'm kinda glad it was postponed and rescheduled for another chance instead of running it with 5-6 cars. We'd been in every one so far and it would have sucked to have another one in the books without 'Younger/Older Than Dirt in the books. Milder weather = + (original date and rescheduled dates are good.....way better than 110-120F in car temps) 400 = + (tough enough @ 400 miles, another 100 turns it into almost twisted torture... ;D ) prize winnings - not necessary, it's done for the reasons above. solo event - yes, unless the only way it can happen is if resources must be coupled with a normal CGB event. brackets/classes = no, not enough cars to divide and no reason to have other than overall 1-2-3. Guys and Gals, We will be running a timed enduro style race at our April event. We will run our regular schedule a little earlier and then run a 4 hour timed race. This will allow us to finish under the sunlight. At the conclusion of that race, the series will host a dinner in the Redline Sports bar and we will give out the year end awards. This dinner and get together is free to all who enter either of the races for that day. Extra tickets for your guests will be available when you register. Dinner menu has yet to be determined but guarantees to be good, we will have an open bar for all who care to partake. You will see on the schedule, we have moved the race date to the Saturday instead of Sunday so some of you can sleep it off in the parking lot and not be late for work on Monday. Entry for the event will be posted on CR.net by the end of the week and the rules will be simple: 4 hour timed race 1 class ( categorized as those crazy enough to do it) 5 minute mandatory pitt stops minimum 2 drivers per team All standard safety requirements in place, fueling, stands, engine off, etc Must commit to having a great time no matter what happens No minimum car count to run, but must have 10 for cash payout Last but not least, we will be accepting donations for our adopted Charity, St Marys School in Alexandr ea. The series will be donating a portion of all entries to the cause and hope that you will call on some of your supporters to help as well. All Checks should be made out to St Marys School. As always, Thank you for your support and I look forward to having a fun end to what has been an exciting season.
Thanks again,
Chris Lois and Kent

When it comes to total number of drivers, two is just the minimum. Additional drivers may be added at the time of registration. Thanks for the calls and please check the cr.net boards on Monday to sign up.

The countdown has begun and goals have been set for the Sprint and Enduro races to benefit St Marys School. As we discussed in our drivers meeting this morning, there are many people close to all of us who are going through tough times and need support, as insignificant as our contributions may seem to us, the thought really does count.
Please find the time in your heart and schedules to come out and participate in either one of the races and most importantly come have fun with some of your racing family in an effort to raise some money for the kids at St Marys School.
If there is anything Lois or I can do to help you or your team make the event, please do not hesitate to ask, we want to see all of our racers help us end our season on a high note.
Clubregistration.net will be open for this event on Monday March 4 after 5pm.
Thanks in advance for your continued effort and support.
Chris and Lois
