The First Southern Jr. Dragster Nationals was held at No Problem Raceway last weekend. The rain forecast played havoc on the race schedule. The rain forecast for Sunday didn't look great at all. Event promoters, Cody Pollage and Brian Amorello, along with the track decided to run both days on Saturday. There was 47 cars, with drivers from six different states looking forward to getting back on the track, going rounds, seeing the win lights, and hopefully picking up the win in the finals.
First off was the index classes. In the 12.90 index class, Jacob Hickey form Ponchatoula, LA picked up the win over Cacie Petrovich from Belle Chasse, LA. Hickey was .362 at the , and went 12.910 for the win. Petrovich was .434 at the tree and went 13.011 for the runner up spot. In the 8.90 index class, Dalton Morris from Pride, LA took home the win. He faced J.D. Legg from Liberty, Texas in the final. Morris was .050 at the tree and went 8.98 to beat Legg who was .075 and went 8.817. In the 7.90 index class, Hailey Marcel from Morgan City, LA took on Darian Boesch from Kenner, LA in the finals. Boesch turned it -.001 red, giving the win to Marcel who was .250 at the tree and went 7.913. In the Big Bucks Saturday class, Bethany Crick from Kentucky took on Joseph Hidalgo III from Westwego, LA. Crick was .026 at the tree and went 7.899 on her 7.90 dial to beat Hidalgo who was .101 at the tree and went 8.099 on his 8.20 dial.
Then it was off to Sunday's classes, which would be held Saturday evening. In the 8-9 year old age group, Colin Landry from Prairieville, LA took on Christopher Richtenburg. Landry was .071 at the tree and went 13.318 on his 13.24 dial for the win. Richtenburg was .170 at the tree and went 12.990 on his 12.90 dial for the runner up spot. In the 10-12 year old class, Peyton Sandrock from Mississippi, took the win over Blaze LeBlanc from Belle Rose, LA. Sandrock was .132 at the tree and went 9.074 on his 8.96 dial. LeBlanc was .187 at the tree and went 9.089 on his 8.95 dial for the runner up spot. In the 13+ class, Darian Boesch from Kenner, LA faced off with Destin Bailey from Marrero, LA in the finals. Bailey turned it -.005 in the finals, giving the win to Boesch who was .081 and went 7.924 on his 7.90 dial. In the outlaw class, Bethany Crick defeated Brooke Heckel. Last but not least there was still one class left to run. The class was the Big Bucks class for Sunday. Logan Sampey, Landon Neely, and Brooke Heckel were all still in when the rained came.
