Finishing up a 42RE for a Jeep this weekend, baby version, but otherwise identical to your diesel and when I got to the valve body, thought about you and your seal and thought you might be interested.., ;D T

Back assembled, you see this round shaft next to the blue plastic neutral switch guide,,,? That's what passes through the seal in the case. T

Troy, seal goes in from outside....here's a shot of a case from inside, you see the seal at the hole. So you can see, really, unless you fab up some kind of screw in extractor to get it out from outside, the valve body has to be lowered. Not disassembled, just lowered as a whole like I showed it in the second pic. If you have one of those reusable pan gaskets, all you need is a seal to do the job. T
