The last race of the race 5 weekend was the first Dash for the Cash race held during a GCRS event. The field of 15 cars was let out in an inverted order with time between the releases to put all of the vehicles theoretically at the finish line at the same time. Was there mayhem, Carnage, desperate and ill advised moves to overtake? The answer is no. It was clean fun to watch action from the start of the clock to the drop of the checkered flag. The eventual winner was Alan Simpson, who started second, followed by Kenny Cangelossi and Gary Rebstock. the fans in the stands were treated to the classic tale of cat and mouse as they watched the field get closer and closer together each lap. Jim Tull and Phil Lahaye were the two fastest cars in the field leaving the grid last and second to last respectively but drove to times that were more then the allotted .5 seconds below there qualifying time. The next dash will be at the conclusion of the March event.

It was great fun, if you didn't run it you missed a good time. I thought there would have been more traffic but there really was very little with 15 cars, you always had someone to chase down.
Put me down for next time.

I didn't run the Dash race today but I did watch it and thought it was very interesting. I believe I will try it in March but I was a little worried about my car after the 1st full day of racing with racing tires and the new stresses encountered by the added grip, so I will check all bolts and pieces for any abnormalities and if it checks out I will be more comfortable running the extra race. Thanks for trying something different and I appreciate all of the competition in the GT Category it was very exciting to be competitive again and setting my personal best times ever in the GCRS. #44 240ZGT2, Oh I hope to paint it soon and have it looking good for the next event.
