Start of Race was pretty exciting. We had a good turn out and everyone was having a good time. When mirror broke during race it was not funny at the time, but looking at the video looks pretty funny. Here is the link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUBu4OtLklw

Ron, Did you pull the mirror down on your own in 13/14? Give me a call this week when you have a minute.
Thanks for posting the video, hopefully Teddy sees it and gets a taste of what a bad start does to the rest of the field.

T, Gotta try every chance we get otherwise the pickens are gonna get slim. Take care, Chris I was proposing an experiment. First I want to look Ron's alignment settings over, I already know what I'm going to find. Then, put you, me or Eon in his seat and let him ride along, I can just about guarantee he can knock two seconds off and be running 27's in a heartbeat. It aint just seeing the car go faster from the passenger seat, it's understanding why it's faster and having somebody make him get something from it. T

It has power steering, but I have it disconnected because it had a leak. Personally I like the feel of the car without the power steering.

Some drivers rather the ratio of the non power 944 racks but the ratio on the power racks seems just right to many.
Filling the rack with moly grease (Merc boat engine lower unit grease works) and plugging it permanently allows you to run the tighter ratio without the burden of the power assist components.
Steering effort is lessened by varying amounts of positive caster to suit.
When dialed in right, the steering wheel almost turns itself initially in tight corners.
In our cars, there is really no adverse effect to massive amounts of positive caster, the inside wheel will rise, the outer will lower as an effect of the positive axis, causing weight transfer that makes the rear loose.....just what you want on tight corners.
On exit, you have to sacrifice running wide to "unwind" the corner as the wheels stand back up.
Most grassroots racers who do their own wrenching (and generic alignment techs) tend to think of "setup" in terms of only static F/R.
If you are off on your F/R spring calculations, mishandling is emphasized by multiples when weight is transferred and carried by outward springs.
Maybe Ron can fix his mirror to his steering wheel to give him the power leverage instead of fixing his leak.... ;D
