Look forward to joining the GT3 Class in 2010. When is the next race in 2010? Attachments:

Are you guys still running forced induction? If so, you will be in GT2.
The next race will be January 10th.

Andy,
I'm seriously considering lobbying for a change in GT2/GT3 for Forced Induction cars for next year. I will propose to raise the cap to 3.2L with a 1.4 x multiplier. This way the M3 guys and smaller can play together.
The point is Paul, Jeff Lutz, Deniz and I all hover around the same times and none of us have ever gone faster than 1:20.6 (one practice session on brand new tires for me). Kenny could be the exception. Sure someone might comment about my car not being maxxed out for the class (including tires), but I have never gone faster than 1:21.5 in a race and I think I have a heck of a lot of power and a good bit of weight reduction on my car. If you think about it, this change would reinforce the "FASS" principle (Fast, Affordable, Safe, Sustainable). I would also consider moving the breakout time to 1:19.99 for the class to eliminate someone from dumping that extra money into running away from someone else. Doesn't make sense for 3.0L cars and 6.0L cars to be restricted to the same window of times as it is evident that power makes a big difference on this track and none of the smaller motor cars have run there this year.
We will have a detailed discussion with data towards the end of year.

Patrick For what it's worth: In BMW Club racing my car is classified as D-Modified which means cars with 2.1L to 2890cc with no weight or HP restrictions. Forced induction cars get a 1.5 x displacement penalty which in my case makes me equivalent to a 2.44 L naturally aspirated car. Harold Petit's car is a C-Mod, which is in the next faster class. In Nasa, I'm in GTS3, Harold's car and other 3.3L cars would be in GTS 4. My car has never acheived a lap faster than 1.21.9 , my car is maxed out on mods, tires and suspension to be competitive in BMW & NASA. More thought needs to be considered concerning FI cars.

I think you guys will have a hard time selling it when the leading GT2 car is a stock-motor 2.0l turbo car. I don't really care. You guys make the rules and I'll find a way to win within them.

The leading GT2 car is also the only car that has made all the races so far. If Harold had shown up to all the races he would be slaughtering me. Patrick
