You might find one to just show up on the day of the event, but even if you are the only one [which is unlikely], just do your thing without fear. I did that last year, and found that getting comfortable with my own speeds was the key to learning how to "jump on it" to go faster. Your "comfort zone" will continually move up as you get better and better-and you WILL get better and better with more and more seat time. And seat time is the key to most of us getting: (1) more comfortable, and (2) faster. IMHO:Have fun, relax, and drive as fast as you feel you can. If you don't spinout once in a while, you ain't trying hard enough....

That bit about spinning being a prerequisite to going fast must be a wives tale from spouses who's husbands spin a lot.... ;D T

I run in the Novice Run group. Hope to see you guys there. Carver Carver, my birthday came and went two days ago and you missed the opportunity to open a b'day thread for me. That's your third strike....., I'm done allowing you to tell people that you are my friend. From here forward, we're back to the formerly agreed price for me telling people that I know you....to $5 a head. ;D T

And Doug, don't sweat it, nobody ever knows the head count in any group until there's a show of hands at the driver's meeting.
There could be 5-10 show and register at the track.

oh we're going to have fun We just want to get familiar with the car and track. That and make sure all the little things we've done to the car work. We'll see if we can pedal a 1:40 lap out of it.

Hey, at least you're going in realistic. Tell us about the car and the changes, weight, engine, tires, etc. T

ummmm
88 mustang .... cost me a whooping $225 ....
As I said we'll try to keep up and not shed to many parts on the track. No leaks/drips though !!
changes ..... elec. fan now on a switch (was always on), battery now down the back, no power steering, if the last of the hardware arrives before the 25th then discs on the rear, if not then drums.
weight 2450 but there's a few pounds we've taken/ can take out.
tires 205/50/15's
if anyone knows where we can find some 15x6 4-bolt on 4.25" rims ..... we need 1 set.

2450 lbs? that's a 2.3, right? Isn't that the same 2.3L that Ford used in the turbocharged T-Bird...? That'd probably be a decently competitive red bracket car at that weight, setup with the 2.3T. T
