Alright, quick and clean just how you like it: Lee Romine ran with the group in his spec racer ford and also ran away with the race win. Brent Mosing finished second in the "halloween" 911 and managed to hold off the two charging Corvettes in the early laps driven by Dennis Gros and newcomer, Jim Tull. They finished 6th and 8th respectively. Ben Cherbonnier took the momentum he gained in qualifying ( 3rd ) and turned it into a podium finish. Kenny Cangelossi entered the race straight from his garage but was able to get to his rightful starting position before turn 4 and wound up finishing fourth. Marshall St Amant and I started in the rear of the field and once the rain drops started to come down, Marshall decided against trying to push fate and parked the # 51 CGB boxster. I was able to hold on, despite completely missing the set up on the 44, I mean the car was in left field. ( lesson learned: try new stuff in practice, not in a race ) and speaking of left field, Dennis Gros put the 02 Corvette so far off turn three, the rescue squad found it easier to grab him from turn 6. Spectators reported a water wave that could be seen clearly from the grandstands in the paddock. Wedge, whats the prize for going off that way? All in all, it was hot, but no where near the temps of june and as always the racing was cool. Two down, one to go. Hope to see you at the last of teh summer series races, next month!
