thanks gary...i can really learn something from this video. i sent you a pm. Nice driving Clint. One of these days I'm going to own a race car that actually accelerates when you press the gas pedal, instead of just making a bunch of noise.

Here's my view of the Bracket/SM feature from Race 6: vimeo.com/10060820I think I have footage of almost everyone, mostly of them passing me. Walt, I checked it out last night....., looked like just an off day for you, it happens, I wouldn't sweat it. Now that you have this first season under your belt staying clean, it's time to take that next step and your lap times will start falling. Being in the same machinery, it looks like your line is good and your gear changes and selections are what I believe to be right (others vary). Your turn in is too early at T14 and you are having to slow too much to avoid running the right side tires into the dirt. At least for me, the fix for this begins way back at T12, trying to make the car line up for a straight trajectory through T13 all the way to point where you might tap the brake and make your turn in abrupt and NOW/SUDDEN way instead of cheating over slowly and angular. We talked about this in person before....but when you get this right, you know it because you will be flat on wide open throttle for 2-3 seconds there instead of feathering the gas with the car pinched in turn. Same thing at T8 & 9 which we (DC and Andy) discussed here before. If you start cheating over early before T8 in an angular way instead of an abrupt brake tap/ turn in, you are robbing yourself. Rest is just upping the commitment to plant the throttle and trusting the car to stick. T

Hey Walt, looked to me like you just had no confidence at all in your tires; that, to me, is the cause of all the symptoms T points out. No worries, you've got the rookie kinks out and still almost won the yellow championship!
Since Hoosiers have such a short sweet spot (10 heat cycles if you don't burn them out), I try to rotate two sets to keep as good of rubber as I can for the races. I'll run my older ones for warm-up and even qualifying. Might cost a couple of spots but saves a heat cycle. Then you just put on two heat cycles for each race day; and that could last a season...almost.
While Kumhos or Toyos may not be as good as Hoosiers while Hoosiers are in their zone, from all I've heard they last longer and even tend to get better towards the last third of their life. The trick is to try to manage two sets throughout the season.

Gary nice drive! Now put gas in the damn car!! I was hoping somebody would explain the problem to me Actualy, it just seems to happen when I miss my turn in point and have to turn in harder than usual (like with Clint on my rear bumper ;D ). It seems to slap the rear end around some. I've got a problem I don't know how to solve short of putting a new tank in; the float looking piece that's supposed to keep gas in the middle has detached itself and free floats around the bottom of the tank. It usualy is ok down to a quarter tank, Sunday I had almost a half!
