I went to the Circuit Grand Bayou website, but it's not posted anymore. Instead there is a screen that indicates something cool was coming soon with image of an empty closet and a sole Hawaiian shirt. Tropical vacation time? Anyone have any news about what's on the horizon? Any teasers? www.circuitgrandbayou.com/

As far as I know..... ;D, James (or whatever his name was), the long haired guy that used to work at the track, left. Along with him, the password key to make changes to the old site went, which he created if I remember correctly. He couldn't be depended on to make site/calendar/events changes, so they had to have someone else take over those duties. In the process, I guess some freshening and new changes were made. This is the first time I look at it but it was brought to my attention in an email early this morning that there is no link to the forum anymore...? Dunno if that's an oversight, maybe the page isn't finished. I'd guess there's going to be a new forum controlled by the same person unless the rights to this one are relinquished. Good day..., T

Addendum - there is a link to join the forum on the site.
It's at the bottom of the page on the racing series tab.
Info that was passed on to me was incorrect.
In other news, I have a new header in green bold in my sig... ;D

Oh... Wow... Same price for 1/4 of the track time (if that)? No thanks. Was looking forward to running the mustang too, new panhard rod-ends w/ some fresh HP+ pads.

There are plenty opportunities available even for cars without cages to get way more track time......Lapping days, BMWCCA and PCA DEs, etc.
Thing about timed solo days with less laps, timing and scoring runs so your laps are "official". You don't get that at any other venue except full on racing.
There's no where else you are going to go full tilt in a prepared car on a genuine circuit with EMS, tow truck and a first responder standing by to serve you for less cabbage.
$120 bones....?
Heh heh....you ever call a wrecker....?
$120 dollars....?
Call out an EMS unit for a house call.
$120 bucks......!?!?!?!?!?!
Heck, my personal driver safety gear alone costs 15-20 times that.....!

T Isn't all that available during a lapping day except the timed runs? Could just set up a video recorder and go off that unless you are really trying to push it down to the 1/10 or 1/100 of a second, it won't be "official" is the only downside. I guess if you don't want to get on the track with a bunch of other cars, but even then, there are strict rules set in place to prevent most things. It just seems like a steep hike from the, what, $30 dollars it was? IIRC (probably don't). And for the exact same amount of track time. Not even an increased amount of time on the track per run, say, a full warm-up lap rather than 1/2?

Yep, I hear ya....$30 is insane and those days serve a purpose as well of getting people to try out the "because you always wanted to" theme of the whole track mantra. I dunno G, I'd wait for an authorized track representative to reply here, maybe it's a misprint or mistake. I wouldn't over react until I heard from someone with credentials officially. Unfortunately, I'm sure they're busy as always but just sit tight. If your concerns aren't addressed in a reasonable time or an event is closing in that you are considering, PM me and I'll get an answer for y'all. T

It might just be a victim of cut-copy-paste What I'd really like to have is a clarification on the January 30th event(s) that show a lapping day in the morning and solo-one event in the afternoon...the lapping day page shows the track running 930-4 or so, pretty much overlapping the solo-one event.....I'm thinking this is just some sort of editing mistake In any event, if the solo-one days are going to be almost as much as full-on lapping, I guess I'll just have to start doing those a bit earlier than I had anticipated ......awww shucks Mark

Hey Guys, It's Kent.... sorry about all the confusion. I am the one that has created the new web site and obviously, have made some mistakes, mostly of the cut and paste type like someone suggested above. The Solo Time Trials was accidentally posted as $120, but it has been changed to $45.
We also have a mixed day planned, where we will run a Lapping Day in the MORNING and a SOLO Time Trial in the AFTERNOON. We are trying to get those who only come to Solo days a taste of what a Lapping Day is and vice versa. Hope this clarifies things a bit. Also, since the web site is new and there are sure to be more errors, etc., please send me an email for suggestions, corrections, etc. to kent@circuitgrandbayou.com Thanks!!
