T. & Ion, If ya'll are planning on winning or even staying close to the podium in PCA you are going to have to have NEW HOOSIERS! I've been to several PCA events and watched the competitors change tires between each session. Crazy. But it does sound like ya'll had a good time.

Oh yeah, I definitely know what you're saying there.....you mean an event with quite a few cars in class. Here, we both did podium.... ;D Hoosiers are out of the question for me....., it's either RA1 or the BFG G-Force R1. I don't even bother keeping track of heat cycles....., I have seen the Hoosier runners complain that the tires are going off after 10 heat cycles. The tires I corded during Race 2 on Sunday had close to 30 heat cycles on 'em and I was fairly competitive still at the last GCRS race against cars with the same P/W ratio. You have to have quite a gap on the S2s by T14 or you have -0- chance of holding them off before T1.....but you already knew that. ;D T

T you might want to think about the V 710 from Kuhmo. That is what we are runnning on the 007 and they are great from a wear and cycle stand point. Although to be perfectly honest with you, as good as Paul Loupe has that car set up, I think we could run Pepboys tires on that cat and be competative. I got to run with Carver, Ridgeway and Dennis paul and had a blast. Looking forward to getting in the seat full time again. Thanks to all who came out and supported the event, it would not be as much fun without you!

Thanks to all who came out and supported the event, it would not be as much fun without you! ChrisW How long are they lasting for y'all exactly...? Not counting the rain out first GCRS race and the round one make-up, I ran 1 single set of RA1s the entire season and 1/2 into the PCA weekend before I corded the LF and I only flipped the fronts on the rim one time. The tires were brand new tread, not shaved but they were a full three years old when I mounted them from GCRS race 2 because they came off my project turbo and I bought them when I got the Fikse wheels that long ago. I looked at the Kumho but in the sizes we need for the forged TurboS wheel that we run, I can only get square shoulder for one end and rounded shoulder for the other and I read/hear that this is not recommended. Didn't y'all try this on the 007 initially....? What's your take on mixing the rounded shoulder tire and the autoX square shoulder front to back...? J have the car handling just right weekend to weekend and don't want to be chasing setup all weekend due to a tire change. I would sure like to compete against all the 8V 944NAs on equal terms....., a universally agreed tire, that's why me and Lane brought up the 944 SPEC a while back. Tires make up 2.0 seconds a lap on these cars on our track, easy. T

Chris, any chance of the track tire distributor selling Kumho's? Troy, where are you and Clint getting the Nittos from....? I think I looked at those too, same thing as the Kumhos for our wheels, the right sizes aren't available. T

I guess I could run non-staggered turbo width rear phone dials all around but the car balance is set up for staggered F/B widths. T

G-man, DC, get those vids up... I'd sure like to see Gary's Race 1 video and the few first laps of DC's Race 3 vid.... ;D I finally got a decent video to post but the sound is out of sync. Phony view right out the windshield without driver inputs but it's all I have. Will post up as soon as I get Eon to fix the audio problem. T

Video of PCA race 3 is on vimeo and comments NOT welcome. My driving was crap all weekend and my start was worse. T, I thought my 4 wheels off in 3 scared you off of the track. ;D Didn't look like you were sliding too bad. Eon is a whole nuther story. I didn't realize until I watched the vid while attempting a decent edit that he lapped me on the final lap chasing Hamza. Anyway, as for the square shoulder Kumhos, they do not work on the track, they chunk the extra rubber on the corners, is my take. That is why we upped the front size. Since the refurbished front end I have to start from scratch. This weekend I mainly wanted to work on my PCA license, so I didn't drive red bracket, Chris took that task and did such a good job, ?I need to demote myself to maintenence and carwash.

I wish I would have been able to record race 3. With the 30 min races on Sunday my memory card was full and somewhere in the process of removing the videos from Saturday I left my spare card at the house Mike and I did have some close racing in that one! DC I'm sure you'll be back in action and ready to go come the first race

T, I thought my 4 wheels off in 3 scared you off of the track. ;D Didn't look like you were sliding too bad. Yeah, well, I guess the distance created by your off put you farther back than I thought but I'm just going a whole lot slower too overall in that race limited by those tires, especially the rears. I couldn't even remember what pressure those thing run and had spent the rest of the whole weekend tweaking the tires that i corded. I came off as soon as you got around but I wasn't gonna deny you that pass.... ;D Eon is a whole nuther story. I didn't realize until I watched the vid while attempting a decent edit that he lapped me on the final lap chasing Hamza. That's how I knew I was in trouble from the first warm up and first practice. Where usually, at least in the actual races, I can stay within a tenth or two of Eon, I was a light year away. I thought I could just drive around the tires...... and made a pretty good stab in Race 1 but there was no way I could stay anywhere around Eon or Gary when he put the new tires on. Anyway, as for the square shoulder Kumhos, they do not work on the track, they chunk the extra rubber on the corners, is my take. That is why we upped the front size. Thanks to those who put on the event, sponsors and the volunteers. I had a blast.
The GT Group had some good, clean, close and exciting racing. Race 1 on Saturday was very close with Paul Donovan who broke into the 120's in his GT3 Beemer. I am not sure if that is the GT3 record or not but it is damn fast. Race 3 was very close with Jeff Lutz who got by me in 14 and held me off until the last lap. Nice driving guys! Jeff and Paul, let me know when you have the video up!
I am debating on whether a cool suit used once a year is worth the investment?

I posted my video of the bracket feature #1 on vimeo. It's the only one of the 3 features where I was in an actual race. www.vimeo.com/11153173

I saw most of the bracket racing and watched the final Miata and bracket race from T10 on the gravel road side of the drag strip. Very cool vantage point. Normally I would have used your performance to gauge where i would have been if I had raced in y'all group but other than Race 1 maybe, I'd have been nowhere near you guys this weekend. Good job. And yeah, the GT battles up front were fun to watch too. T
