Heres the replacement ride to compete with y'all. Hopefully I can get her done to race some this year. What I need to pass tech will also help (carver) Lets Get It ON!

You only need one motor really - God's motor...the LSx (fill in X with whatever number you can afford). I had a deal on 2 of them already that fell through. I have this LS1 in the shop just staring me down too. My LS6 car was 398 whp and 2808 wet with A/C and PS. A full racecar could easily drop 200 lbs which is an insane car with one of the best suspensions EVER made. Still don't think it will beat the MR2 in inclement weather though Good luck! Patrick

Will have the cage bulit by the guys who build Randy Pobsts K-pax cars hopefully within the next 2 months.

What is that thing?
312 to the wheels, 18x9.5's... Sounds like my stang, though mine is more around 305, and I am sure that thing is waaaay faster. I run 275/40/18 NT-01's though.

jLee,
I could not tell from the posts if you knew that Patrick has built a V8 3rd Gen. He and I should be able to help you avoid some common pitfalls.
One expert on this swap is Mazcare in Atlanta. Their last 3rd Gen V8 road racer build weighs about 100 # less than mine at around 2750. Charlie the owner of Mazcare is a great guy and someone you should talk to.
Good luck with the build! I can't wait to see it on track.

Yea i will run the rotary till it blows. But once that happens I will be looking into a 3 rotor or a V8 just been researching at the moment.
I have read about mazcare and actually read som of there build threads so i will contact them.
Thanks

Sounds like a plan!
The more I work on things the more I think I will keep the MR2. I really don't have time to build another car right now (I bought a 914 and actually was going to rotary power it).
I doubt you will hit 2600 on full cage as there isn't much to lose on the inside of those cars (all plastic), but either way you will have a SERIOUS Power to weight ratio in an INCREDIBLY well-handling chassis.
I guess I need to put the big turbo and cams in the MR2 then...
2300 lbs and 330 whp - right now I'm at 260 whp.

Sweet, I know Bryan VERY well from way back in my rotary days. I talked to him about two months ago. He seems to be doing pretty well! He sells a great product. I know those turbos will put out. I guess the Big turbo will be a requirement to play with you. I'm scared of a fully-functioning FD...that car should be seriously fast and you know I'm not blowing smoke. ABS is incredible on them as well. All things that my MR2 is plagued by not having. OK so the Wilwood 4 piston Superlites on all 4 corners w/ the balance pedal IS pretty nice Patrick
