Well, it looks like Bill already sold his 12A streetport motor, so scratch that swap idea. However, he did show me how well a 400hp small block Ford fits into the engine bay. I also picked up more spare parts including a complete front suspension assembly with crossmember, manual steering assembly including steering column, hatch glass and front bumper cover. Somebody's gotta be looking for a cheap, easy to maintain race car with a great spares package, right?

I'm still very interested in the car, but I have a butt load of parts to unload before I can purchase this thing.
Also, I just sold my tow vehicle... what do the storage bays at CGB run?

I'm don't know what the situation is with storage bays at the track. You will have to contact Chris Wilken about that.

Revised the spares list. A couple of items have been sold and I added a few other items.
Thanks for looking!

Been researching this car a bit. What kinda HP is the engine putting out? Around 110?
What kinda lap times do you usually put down with this car?
Does it still run and is it in race ready condition?

Yes, it still runs and only lacks a mirror and fire extinguisher to be race ready. I can replace those pretty quickly. My best lap time in that car was about a 1:28. I've never had it on a dyno, but your power estimate is probably pretty close. There's more power to be had if you're willing to port the engine. I was keeping the car legal for the SCCA Spec RX-7 class when I was running it, so I never went down that road. Let me know if you have any other questions or if you want to come and check it out. Thanks

Just want to add a small tidbit but this is a perfect car for somebody starting out.
It's one thing to run faster than 1.28 in a 1 lap flier format like the solo lapping thing and a totally different thing to run 1.27-1.28 consistently for a race distance.
When pushed for more than a lap or two, some of these solo cars will be found to be lacking in brakes, oiling, etc. and lead to a ton of cash in upgrades.
This is a race proven and reliable car with all of the safety gear (less extinguisher) intact and ready to go.
There are plenty lapping days between now and the race season's start to get acclimated to the car and be race ready for the beginning of next season.

I wanna come take a look at the car when I get some time. This is more in my price range, especially with all the extras. Could probably slap on a set of wider rims and lower that time easily.
Mind if I ask why you are selling the car?
As for the solo cars, only if they haven't properly kitted it out for the track. I run SS/coated lines, rotor cooling and DOT4 (going to upgrade to some wilwood 600+ soon). HP+ in the front, HPS in the back, Koni STR.T, Steeda sport springs, CAI, etc. etc. Haven't gotten any bad fade yet, even during the lapping days when you get more consistent laps. Could be totally different when racing though, I can't say because I have never really been in a race.
Having a dedicated car though, I wouldn't even bother swapping tires on the stang anymore. I could run my Ultra-lites 24-7 with some 275/45 NT555's, instead of the NT-01's, on all 4.
Just to get an idea, how many laps do you guys run in the actual races?

Uh, well, the lap total can vary, for instance, we went 9-10 laps I think in the heat last event and I think we ran 18 laps in the feature with a few being at caution pace somewhere in the middle of the race.
So I guess it's best to be prepared to run 15-20 laps.
I have no affiliation with this car for sale, just speaking as somebody that raced against it.

Mind if I ask why you are selling the car? I'm selling because I'm racing a Honda CRX now and don't need 2 race cars. I built the RX-7 to run in SCCA SW division Spec RX-7 and ran a couple of races in Texas, then decided to build the CRX for the ITA class which gives me more options to run in other SCCA divisions besides SW. I ran Toyo RA-1's which is the spec tire for SRX-7. You could go with a different tire and improve the lap times somewhat. I find the key to having fun at CGB is to get into a class (bracket) where you have some close competition and not obsess over lap times. Give me a call when you want to check the car out. Depending on timing / circumstances, I may be able to bring the car out to the track so you can see it run.

May be better to schedule a day at the track like you said, I'd love to see it run.
