This is really exciting...my first new thread. The cherry is popped After reading up on the events for next week I'm almost pissed I won't be there. Chris, remember the PCA schedule once the new track opens, please Sounds like lots of fun and great racing. All the rest of you Porsche guys will have to put on a show for us renegades going to Georgia. Have fun!

Will packed lunches be available at the concession stand? I like to support the track.
Don't worry, I'm ready...for my whooping.

I have some Porsche snaps re-sized if y'all need 'em..... ;D T T, thanks but no thanks on the porsche thumbnails...I don't want my account to: 1) become very expensive to upkeep and repair, 2) throw a rod and oil up this clean new forum, or 3) Somehow caue my lap times to be slowed down. I will be putting my avatar up shortly. P

T, you know I'm just messing with you guys.
My 911 is going to be like a motorcycle to me. Nice weather days, fun for short road trips and the like - just safer. Maybe a track day or so...not a factory restoration, but made to handle better and be faster and more reliable. Not a racecar as I am trying to figure out which part of "Porsche Racing" is the more expensive one!

Patrick Well, it looks like vintage racing a 911 fits the definition of expensive: forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-autocross-track-racing/508673-new-2-liter-911-race-engine.html

Some of the classes in PCA are very competitive and the racers have deep pockets. That said, driving can make up for a HP deficit but only to a certain extent. Remember, PCA races at places like Daytona, Sebring, etc. where power is king. T

Wow! Only $40,000 for a whopping 245hp. ROTFLMAO.....! You can do a simple build on one of those engines....., a refresh for a few thousand with new pistons and cylinders. The value in the price for power is for the knowledge to find the extra ponies within the confines of a "stock" PCA class. And I'll tell you, from sitting around in a few pow wows on the topic of legality on the 911s, there is no trick that nobody hasn't already thought of, thus the tech guys addressing a protest know exactly where/what to look for. You are gonna pay a big price for an engine that makes 5-10% more power than "stock" and can pass any scrutiny at the same time. T

I'm bringing the old set of Azenis for the CRX to the shop tomorrow so we can install studs for the ice racing practice session forecast for Saturday morning!
