OK, I like the Vette and the TurboS because the cars are white and will probably show better, I'll see if he can squeeze two pics.
Not looking for a reply on this second bit in a hurry, just something to consider and talk over with Kent.
I'd (or any one) like to contact someone at The Morning Advocate and persuade them into covering the series this year.
They'd be more prone to do it from jump street than to come in later, half way through the year so there is some urgency.
Here's the proposal that I think would work......maybe this is one of those "bring it up at a meeting" kinda things but I'll proceed vaguely.
The track offers purchase of a reasonable advertising space in the Advocate, Picayune, whatever...., in exchange, they cover the series in the sports section.
There are two parties to benefit here, the track AND the drivers.
Everybody I know from around the track wants MORE competition.
The track obviously wants MORE participants.
If y'all made an option to pay, let's say an extra $5 per event per entrant, participation optional of course, we could raise around $200 extra bucks per event that could go towards the track advertising (which is how we bargain for story coverage) and the track (Kent) picks up the rest.
If it were a 50/50 split, with 6 races per year and we (the drivers) could muster $1200 towards spreading the word and Kent matched it.....we could do some serious good with $2400 in media.
I'd happily pay an extra $5.
There's only so much you can get people (the papers) to do without incentive.
