You know that's 400+ RWHP, right? Good luck! I play the power/liter game too, but the aerodynamic drag formula says nothing about how many liters you have. It does, however, factor in total power.

Hey, I bought Scott's former car and it's still ugly, no Cinderella here... so i don't think that's the trick either. Although, rumor has it that's about to change... So Walt......if all you've ever had is an ugly car.....then how do you know that one that's not isn't the trick...? ;D And uh....., can I put you down in any particular run bracket or haven't you decided yet...? BTW, there's more to beauty than you can see from the outside sometimes.... T

You know that's 400+ RWHP, right? Good luck! Well, I didn't originally say but yeah, I meant 400 at the rear wheels not at the crank. As long as you keep the A/F mixture spot on and oil temps in check, 400 is gravy. Remember, I am using an aftermarket ECU, not a piggybacked stock DME.....and I happen to have an excellent software guy.... ;D I play the power/liter game too, but the aerodynamic drag formula says nothing about how many liters you have. It does, however, factor in total power. Patrick You're going off on a whole other tangent, but yeah, I hear what you're saying. Don't worry, I have as much or more time invested in aerodynamic bits as I do in the drivetrain. Floor smoothing, covered exhaust, center gated splitter intake, notched and vented rear bumper, raised rear deck floor and my own designed and hand laid fiberglass split rear diffuser that incorporates two separate exhaust outlets that dump into the diffuser header to excite under body flow. Side wheel well flaps built into the diffuser seal off turbulent air from entering. I designed this from scratch and built it around two years ago and a few people here on the forum have seen it. If you follow Formula 1 racing, you'll already know that the big thing going right now that has some teams trying to catch up to the leaders is a device called a "blown diffuser" that works in theory the same as my design. T No tangent going off on here...just stating the fact that 600 HP and 400 HP are two different things REGARDLESS of how many liters make the power. Think about it...if your 944 had a 5.0L 600 HP motor with the same Aero, which car would be faster? Also regarding aero...things that affect the CoD of a car (top speed, or acceleration against aero drag) usually aren't things that ADD downforce. Downforce usually comes with a good bit of added drag - which will actually SLOW your car's acceleration on top end...of course it can help you come out of the corners faster. So, all of your talk about "increasing" downforce doesn't come without "increasing" drag, which still hurts your top speed. Also, you should be maximizing HP / Weight with our track. We don't have enough straight to worry much about Aero, etc. Anything under 120 mph is kind of a moot point unless you got biplane wings on the car. my .02 Patrick

You just finished saying that 400 RWHP would be hard to achieve and now you're telling me to maximize horsepower.... . And uh....as my car sits, sans only a windshield, two cv axles and the oil cooler setup.....it's probably a few pounds shy of 2200 lbs. With driver, I should come in right at 6 lbs/hp. A PCA GTC3 996 Cup car has a 7.50lbs/hp ratio. So.....I guess I need to go back to the drawing board..... T

T the ZR1 is a 90 and Katies car is an 85 BTW when are you and the rest of Team Frankenstien going to sign up for the 400? Chris Year model added. If y'all are scanning the list for sure entrants, I can sign up now. I already looked at the sign up page and all it takes is one person to do it as a team (?) right....each individual doesn't have to follow through huh...? I have a 100% commitment from Phil and Eon's a given......gotta smack him back down into place in the same car.... ;D and Teddy was a 100% for sure even after the oil spill broke but I haven't checked with him recently to reaffirm with the leak worsening. I'll do that tomorrow but either way, we're in guaranteed. If Teddy can't show.......I'll call either Lane or Scott Foremaster to fill the spot if they are interested. That Foremaster guy is hard on equipment though..... ;D T You better hope you get to run on the new tires ;D

You better hope you get to run on the new tires ;D Old or new, doesn't matter. As long as they're the same ones you are on... By the time we get to the car as drivers 3 & 4, we'll be lucky if there's more than a steering wheel and a seat left.... T

I got some pointers and will be ready to work grid and safety for the season. Kids are cool...., easily pleased and occupied with stuff like a free ride on a toy at the local BREC park or the zoo. Later it's, $150 pairs of shoes, clothes, braces, $6000 annual tuition and cars... ;D Luckily, (not so much luck as proper upbringing) I have two of the best kids a parent could ask for. T
